Is Astellas Pharma Europe B.V. an IND recognised sponsor?
Yes. Astellas Pharma Europe B.V. is on the IND public register of recognised sponsors.
Listed for regular labour and highly skilled migrants, KvK number 28053775, in our copy of the register dated 1 July 2026. That means the IND has admitted this legal entity to the register and it can apply for a highly skilled migrant permit on behalf of someone it hires.
What this does and does not tell you
- It is a permission, not an intention. Astellas Pharma Europe B.V. is permitted to sponsor. Nothing on the register says it has open roles, hires outside the EU, or would sponsor you specifically.
- It applies to this legal entity. Dutch groups often register several entities separately, and the one that appears here may not be the one that would employ you. Check which entity is named on your contract.
- The salary criterion still applies. Sponsorship does not lower the required gross monthly salary — see the figures below.
- The register changes. Organisations join and leave it. Confirm on the official IND register before you make a decision.
Sector: Healthcare & Life Sciences
Pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, contract research organisations and medical device manufacturers sponsor readily. Clinical practice is a different story, because Dutch professional registration and language requirements apply before you can treat patients.
Doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and psychologists practise in a regulated profession. Sponsorship does not shortcut BIG registration, diploma recognition or the Dutch language requirement attached to patient-facing work.

The salary you would need at this employer
The IND sets one gross monthly figure, excluding the 8% holiday allowance, and it does not depend on the employer. For 2026 it is €4,357 if you are under 30, €5,942 from 30 onwards, and €3,122 under the reduced criterion that applies during the orientation year or shortly after graduating from a Dutch programme. The EU Blue Card route sits at €5,942 (€4,754 reduced).
