Privacy & data policy

This policy describes what we actually collect and what happens to it. The highly skilled migrant criteria are age-tiered, nationality-dependent and salary-based, so the questionnaire needs some personal details. We collect what the assessment requires and nothing beyond it.

Data we collect, and why

• Date of birth — the required salary amount differs for applicants under 30 and 30 or over.
• Nationality (and second nationality) — decides whether you need a permit at all, and whether an entry visa (MVV), TB test or document legalisation applies.
• Country of residence and the country that issued your civil documents — decide the application and legalisation route.
• Education — qualification level, field of study, institution, duration and awarding country, to assess degree recognition.
• Work — current, previous and target job titles, occupation, years of experience, a description of your job, and your current employer's name, used to compare you with Dutch market pay and check the IND sponsor register.
• Current salary and currency — converted to euros with European Central Bank reference rates and compared with the required amount and Dutch market pay.
• Language levels, family situation, timing and any notes you add — used to make your step-by-step plan realistic.
• Account data — your email address and login credentials.
• Payment data — the Revolut reference, amount and status of your payment. Never your card number.
• Contact form submissions — the name, email, country, optional payment reference and message you send, plus a hashed (never raw) IP address used only to block spam.
• Technical data — minimal server, email delivery and security logs.

Data we still do not ask for

We do not ask for and do not want: passport or ID numbers, BSN, V-number, home address, health or medical records, religion or ethnicity, financial account details, or CV and document uploads. If you send such data anyway, we will delete it.

AI processing

To write your report, your answers — including your date of birth, nationality, education, job titles, experience, salary, employer name and any notes you add — are sent to AI models through the Lovable AI gateway. Your answers are linked to your account while your report exists. We do not use them to train AI models.

Who processes your data

Why (legal basis)

Performance of a contract (running your assessment and delivering your report), legitimate interests (security, fraud and spam prevention), and legal obligations (tax records for payments).

How long we keep it

• Your answers and report are deleted when you sign out, or 24 hours after the report is created — whichever comes first. You can download your report as a PDF before then.
• Unfinished assessments (a run was used but no report generated) are deleted after 7 days and the payment credit is returned to you.
• Contact form messages are deleted after 24 months.
• We keep your account email so you can log in, payment records for 7 years because Dutch tax law requires it, and anonymous run statistics that contain no answers.

We do not use your data

ClearToNL does not use any user's data for anything other than producing that user's own report. We do not sell it, rent it, share it with employers, sponsors or recruiters, and do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability of your data, and object to processing. Deletion is self-service: use "Delete my account and data" on your account page. For anything else, email ClearToNL@outlook.com. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies for sign-in and security. No advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies.
